Japanned tin with broad mustard-yellow bands, finely hand-painted with acorn and vine decoration in deep greens and browns. Tapered body with applied hand-rolled spout, hinged domed lid with tab pull, and crimped base. Entirely original surface with authentic wear and oxidation from use; no restoration. A strong, early example of Pennsylvania German toleware with confident folk decoration and excellent presence.
