Bright yellow cylindrical tin advertising S. & M. Smoking & Chewing Tobacco, boldly lithographed in black with a standing figural gentleman smoker at center, flanked by vertical “SMOKING” and “CHEWING” lettering. The body further printed with patent-process advertising text and manufacturer’s imprint, marked “Net Weight 8 Ounces.” Original rolled rim and crimped side seam construction. Retains original surface with scattered wear, scratches, and oxidation consistent with age and use; no restoration. A highly graphic and desirable example of turn-of-the-century American tobacco advertising in a compact consumer size.
